Mapstead can assemble property information into a PDF report covering infrastructure, maintenance history, upcoming tasks, and mapped assets. It can also create a handoff package: a ZIP containing the reports plus the original attachments you added.
That package is a deliverable you choose to share — with a buyer, a family member, a caretaker, or a property manager. It is not a cloud backup, and Mapstead does not deliver it anywhere on your behalf.

- What is Mapstead?
- Mapstead is a native Android app for property owners. It combines a property-centered map, records for property systems and infrastructure, maintenance history and reminders, photo and document attachments, and property reports and handoff packages into one local-first app.
- Is Mapstead a property-line or parcel app?
- No. Mapstead does not provide official property lines, parcel boundaries, or automatic parcel data. You create your own map of the features that matter to you. For official boundaries, use your county parcel records and a licensed land surveyor.
- Is Mapstead a replacement for a land survey?
- No. Mapstead is not a land survey and does not produce survey-grade positions. Anything involving boundaries, easements, encroachments, permitting, or legal disputes requires a licensed land surveyor.
- Can Mapstead locate underground utilities?
- No. Mapstead is not a utility locating service and cannot detect anything buried. You can record locations you already know about, but you must never dig based on a Mapstead location. In the United States, contact 811 before any excavation.
- Does Mapstead upload my property information?
- No. Mapstead is designed to store your core property records locally on your Android device. Mapstead does not operate a server that stores users' property records, and precise property information is not automatically uploaded. Online map tiles may require an internet connection.
- Is Mapstead available on iPhone?
- No. Mapstead is an Android application. There is no iPhone, iPad, web, or desktop version, and the current Android build is an open-testing build.
- Is Mapstead available?
- Mapstead is available for open testing on Google Play. It is an Android application, and the version you can install is a testing build rather than a production release. Features, workflows, compatibility, and stored data structures may change, and open-testing access does not guarantee permanent availability. Testers are encouraged to send feedback about bugs, confusing workflows, and missing practical capabilities.
- Is this the finished version of Mapstead?
- No. The version currently available through Google Play is an open-testing build. It is intended for real-world testing and feedback while development continues. Features and workflows may change before Mapstead reaches a production release.
- Can I use Mapstead for more than one property?
- Yes. Mapstead supports multiple property profiles, each with its own map, infrastructure records, maintenance history, and attachments.
