Why it matters more out here
On acreage, forgetting a location costs real time
In town, a plumber finds the shutoff in five minutes. On ten acres, an unmarked septic lid can mean an afternoon of probing, and an unmarked valve can mean shutting off water to the whole property while you look.
Rural systems are also more likely to be owner-maintained, more likely to have been installed by a previous owner, and less likely to have paperwork that survived the last sale.
