For landlords
Keep every rental's records separate and current
Maintain distinct maps, system records, and maintenance history for each property, so turnovers and contractor visits do not depend on anyone's memory.
For rental owners
Each property keeps its own records
Multiple property profiles
Separate maps, systems, maintenance history, and attachments for every property you manage.
Per-unit maintenance history
What was serviced, when, and by whom — so repeat problems become visible instead of anecdotal.
Cost records
Track what work cost with the invoice attached to the entry that produced it.
System documentation
Model plates, manuals, permits, and shutoff locations that a new contractor can be pointed to.
Contractor details
Who services which property, with their contact information sitting on the work record.
Turnover packages
Generate a report or handoff package when a property changes managers, caretakers, or owners.
Questions this answers
What you need before you call a contractor
- Where is the shutoff at that property?
- How old is the water heater in unit two?
- Who fixed this last time, and what did they find?
- Is this repair still under warranty?
- What have we spent on this system in three years?
- Which breaker panel serves the rear unit?
- When was the furnace last serviced?
- What is the gate or lockbox arrangement?
Why it matters
Rental knowledge is the first thing lost at turnover
Property knowledge tends to live with whoever handled the last repair. When that person changes — a new manager, a new contractor, a new owner — the property effectively resets to unknown.
A per-property record of systems, locations, and maintenance history keeps that knowledge with the property instead of with a person, which is exactly where it belongs.
Mapstead stores those records locally on your Android device. Nothing about your properties is uploaded to a Mapstead server automatically, and exports are created only when you choose to make one.
Manage properties on records, not recall
Mapstead is available for Android open testing on Google Play. The current build is a testing version, not a production release, and tester feedback directly shapes what comes next.
