Features
Everything Mapstead does, in one place
Mapstead is a native Android app that combines guided property setup, a property map, infrastructure records, maintenance history, attachments, and property reports. The features below reflect what the current open-testing build actually does today.
Core capabilities
Each capability is designed for a beginner who has never mapped anything before, and useful enough for someone managing acreage or several rentals.
Property-centered mapping
Place points, draw lines, and outline areas on a map built around a single property rather than a whole region.
Guided mapping categories
Buildings, utilities, boundaries, outdoor features, and safety items, with prompts that show what a useful entry looks like.
Map layers and basemaps
Toggle layers to keep a busy property readable, and switch between street, outdoor, light, and dark basemap styles.
Infrastructure records
Track property systems with details, parent-child organization, and relationships between connected systems.
Maintenance history
Record completed work with dates, service providers, costs, and notes, attached to the system it belongs to.
Recurring tasks and reminders
Set repeating maintenance so seasonal and annual work does not depend on remembering it.
Photos and document attachments
Attach photos, receipts, manuals, permits, and notes to properties, systems, maintenance records, and map features.
Property PDF reports
Generate a report covering infrastructure, maintenance history, upcoming tasks, and mapped assets.
Handoff export packages
Create a ZIP package containing reports plus the original attachments you added, for a buyer, family member, or caretaker.
Multiple property profiles
Keep several properties separate, each with its own map, records, history, and attachments.
Local search
Search your own property records to jump straight to a system, a map feature, or a maintenance entry.
Local-first storage
Core property records are stored on your Android device. Mapstead does not operate a server that stores users' property records.

What Mapstead is not
Being clear about this matters more than sounding impressive.
Try these features in the open-testing build
Install Mapstead from Google Play, set up a property, and tell us which workflows work and which need improvement. Feedback from testers decides what gets refined next.
Mapstead is still under active development. This open-testing build is not a production version and should not be treated as a finished or permanently stable application.
